Top of the league Arsenal face a tricky trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool in the late afternoon Premier League kick off on Sunday.
This match-up begins what is a tricky run-in of fixtures for the league leaders, as they chase their first Premier League title in almost 20 years. It won’t be easy however, as they come up against a Liverpool side that has had their number in recent years.
Here, we’ll preview this titanic fixture and provide you with some betting recommendations that we hope can help you win big.
In form
Coming into this crunch game, Arsenal have put together a good run that saw them win their last seven consecutive Premier League fixtures. If you’re being objective, however, all of those wins were against teams that they really should be beating and sometimes it hasn’t been easy.
The last time they came up against one of the big teams was when they played title rivals Manchester City in February. Pep Guardiola’s men came away with all three points that day. They haven’t let that affect them, however, and are on the most in form teams in Europe.
No troubles away
Surprisingly, Arsenal have by far the best away form in the Premier League this season. They have mustered up an impressive 34 points away from the Emirates this campaign, with Manchester City the next closest on just 27. If the Gunners are to win the title, their away form is likely to be the main reason.
That will come as a huge boost for Mike Arteta’s men as they travel to Anfield on Sunday, a ground they haven’t won at since 2012. Records are made to be broken, as the saying goes, and Arsenal are in a bit of a purple patch as they make the trip to Merseyside.
Questions to answer
The same cannot be said for Liverpool, however. The Reds are currently languishing in eight place in the table and their hopes of securing a Champions League place for next season look to be dead and buried. Stranger things have happened though, and a win here could be just the tonic to end the season on a good run.
It’s difficult to see where a good performance is going to come from with Jurgen Klopp’s side, though. The hosts have suffered some very surprising defeats this season and even their 7-0 drubbing of bitter rivals Manchester United hasn’t been enough to galvanise the squad into putting a run together.
It looks set to be a hugely entertaining affair between two good sides and there’s no doubt that Manchester City fans, Pep Guardiola, and his men will all have their eyes on this one come Sunday afternoon. If the Reds find themselves on the end of yet another defeat, there could be some difficult questions to answer for Jurgen Klopp and his players.
