This weekend marks the start of the NFL postseason, as the Playoffs kick off across an exciting weekend.
First up, the Houston Texans welcome the Cleveland Browns on Saturday. On Sunday, the Miami Dolphins travel to Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills host Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers are on the road at Dallas Cowboys. The Detroit Lions take on the Los Angeles Rams early on Monday, while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday. Having secured the number one position in the NFC and AFC respectively, the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens receive a bye into the next round.
Wildcard Weekend is officially the start of the Playoffs and we couldn’t be more excited. Here, we’ll preview the first round games in the hopes that we can predict who will make it into the next stage and who will be packing their bags.
Cleveland to progress against Texans
The Cleveland Browns travel to the Houston Texans on Saturday to kick off Wildcard Weekend and we’re backing the visitors to get the job done and progress to the next round of the Playoffs. The Browns have won each of their last four meetings with Houston, two on home soil and the last twice which have been at the NRG Stadium. They know what it takes to win there and can get the win.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, the Kansas City Chiefs welcome the Miami Dolphins to the Arrowhead Stadium. The Dolphins were looking to be having a good season midway through, but a lack of consistency has cost them. They come into this one having lost back to back games and now visit a venue where they haven’t won since 2011. This one could go the way of the Chiefs.
Bills to stampede Steelers
Elsewhere, the Buffalo Bills host the Pittsburgh Steelers in what is probably the standout tie of the weekend. The Bills are in great form, coming into this on the back of a five game winning streak, so confidence will be high for a side that knows what it takes to get through these early rounds. The Steelers have been in good form themselves, and beat the Bills the last time they met, so we’re expecting this to be a close one.
The final Sunday game sees the Green Bay Packers visit the Dallas Cowboys. The Packers have a decent record against the Cowboys in the head to heads and beat them in overtime when the two most recently met in November. This is going to be another tight one, but home advantage might just edge it for Dallas.
Lions to be tamed
Early on Monday morning, the Detroit Lions welcome the Los Angeles Rams to Ford Field and we’re expecting the 2022 Super Bowl winners to come away with the win. While on Tuesday morning, the 2023 Super Bowl runners up, the Philadelphia Eagles, can take another step towards righting that wrong against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
